ABOUT THE AREA

Northwest Montana offers some of the most spectacular scenery in the country as well as world class fishing in the famous Kootenai River.  Lake Creek Ranch subdivision is nestled at the base of the Cabinet Mountains between Troy, Montana and Bull Lake off of Highway 56.  There are endless opportunities for outdoor recreation in the area; hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying nature.  For close by scenic outings, you can visit the beautiful Ross Creek Cedars or the Kootenai Swinging Bridge.  Take in the Yaak Falls or one of the many nearby lakes or rivers.  For the water sports enthusiast, you can launch your boat into the pristine Bull Lake, just 6 miles to the south, for endless hours of fun on the water without the crowds.  Ride your horses into the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness from the Taylor Peak staging area just 1/8 mile away.  A few fun facts about Troy:  the elevation is only 1,800' and the average snowfall annually is 44''.  For comparison's sake:  Salt Lake City-54",  Jackson Hole-109",  Banff-75",  Coeur d"Alene-42",  and Truckee wins with 168" (bestplaces.net).  The following pictures were not taken at Lake Creek Ranch but at locations within an hour's drive of the property.
